All Ireland 'B' XC - Clarinbridge, Galway - 11th February 2018

All Ireland 'B' Cross country, Clarinbridge, Co. Galway.

Hardy, wintery conditions met the athletes today for the All Ireland 'B' cross country. Erin Murray was our sole representative in the girls u11 and she had good run in the 1k event. A full club team took to the line in the boys u11. Daniel Geraghty had a fantastic finish to win an individual silver medal. Robert Lynch, Finn Dowling, Gearoid McCauley and Cormac Murray all running great the team just missed out on a medal by 3 points.
Aoishe Gormley, Georgia Nolan and Tayo Akintayo all ran well in the girls u13 1500m race but unfortunately only 3 runners so no full team. The same in boys u13 where Conan Lennon won an individual medal. Joseph Richards and Cillian McCauley both ran well. Orla Reidy after her silver Leinster indoor 1500m yesterday had another strong run to take individual silver in u15. The boys u15 were strong all round. Eoin Richards ran a stormer from gun to finish to take the title. Oisin Farrell running strongly behind him took 3rd. Silver club medals here for the lads with Tadgh McCauley and Emilis Galinaitis the two other runners. In the final race for us the girls u17 Kirsten Monaghan ran well to claim a silver medal and Maud O'Shea also claiming a top 12 medal.
Well done to all.
