Paul Robinson joint winner of Extra Time Sports 'Sports person of the year' - 31st December 2020

A competitive field of elite Kilcock athletes made it a difficult choice for local Sports Journalist Robert Cox to choose this year's Extra Time Sports “Sports person of the year”, settling for cyclist Conn Dunphy and St. Coca's Paul Robinson to be joint winners of the 2020 title.

Thanks to Robert Cox for highlighting and celebrating their amazing achievements every year with great enthusiasm, passion and depth of context. Paul Robinson won the National 1500m in August and Conn McDunphy worn the Elite Men's Time Trial National Championships in October.

Congratulations to Conn McDunphy and Paul Robinson on being crowned this year’s joint winners of Extra Time Sports “Sports person of the year”.

Track Development Works Begin - 16th November 2020

We are delighted to announce that the long promised track development work at the Bawnogues grounds will commence this week.

The project is funded by Kildare County Council, The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport Sports Capital Programme (SCP) and St Coca’s Athletics Club.

Works will include the development of sprint lanes, drainage and the upgrading of floodlighting. As a consequence, the track will not be available to use until further notice and the following changes have been made by the coaching team to facilitate ongoing training activities.

This is great news for the club going forward and should be of great benefit to all members well into the future.

Chairman of Leinster Athletics, Pat Hooper of Raheny Shamrocks AC dies, aged 68 - Friday 9th October 2020

The athletics Community in Leinster and Ireland lost a great friend, Pat Hooper of Raheny Shamrocks, who died suddenly today. Pat was always a great supporter of our athletes here in St Coca's recognising a club with a great middle distance tradition. He was the main man behind his club in Raheny but a great supporter of all athletes in Ireland. As Leinster chairman he chaired his last meeting last night on Zoom where he joked and laughed with the members. A huge shock to the athletic community and a massive loss. A gentleman to the core. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
