St Coca's Virtual Banter Challenge
Do you need some inspiration to get out the door and run??
Are you willing to give your all for absolutely zero prizes or medals??
Bored of bog standard virtual runs??
Looking to do something different??
Why not sign up for the St Coca's Virtual Banter Challenge!
Consisting of 6 challenges over 6 weeks to be completed individually or as part of your household/bubble inside your 5km area.
The challenges are designed for all running abilities, 15 min 5km runners or 50min 5km runners it doesn't matter, all are welcome!
All you need is a pair of runners and a running watch or a phone.
Challenge examples:

Can you run a 5k with every km getting faster?

How high can you run in 30mins?

Team marathon (5 × 8k)
Each week points will be awarded completely at the judges discretion and based on no scientific criteria whatsoever.
The first challenge will be posted this Sunday the 21st of March.
If you can run a 5k, then you are able for this challenge.

Paul Robinson reaches 1500m final of European Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland

Paul Robinson qualified for the European Indoor 1500m final after placing 3rd in the 4th heat (3:40.07), along with his Irish team mate Andrew Coscoran who qualified from heat 2. Both men gave it their all in the final putting in impressive times in a fast paced difficult race, with Paul placing 10th and Andrew placing 7th in a dramatic evening which saw the race winner, Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen being disqualified for stepping off the track, but later reinstated following a Norwegian appeal.
Fantastic to see a Kilcock man reach this level and great to see such fantastic support behind him in the community.
New outdoor 1500m PB for Kevin Kelly in Austin Texas - 26th February 2021
Kevin Kelly set himself a new outdoor personal best overnight in Austin in Texas at the Texas Qualifier - Trials of miles. In his first race in over 12 months he clocked 3.43.16 for the 1500m.
Note the video below is not of Kevin's Friday night race but from the following night at the same event where he was a pacer for the 5K.
St Coca's athletes complete virtual 50K - Saturday 13th February 2021
While following current guidelines and staying within the set limits, 5 members took on the arduous task of completing a virtual 50k on this cold February morning.
The task made more difficult having to complete the ultra marathon alone but these 5 warriors took all challenges on board to not only complete it, but absolutely smash it.
Take a well earned rest now, legends of the local loop!

At the same time, Kate Brilly ran her fastest marathon time by some distance.

Congratulations to Paul Robinson achieving the European Indoor Championships qualification standard in the 1500m with an impressive 3:42.27 performance, claiming a 2nd place finish in the Catalonian International Meeting, Barcelona on Monday 8th February 2021.
